"CCD-Guide Version 9"
The project "CCD-Guide" of the Astronomical Association Salzkammergut – Gahberg observatory.
Idea of the project
- Since 1997 the CCD team of the observatory Gahberg publishes once a year a new DVD which contains the best CCD and DSLR images of our members.
- New images will be added or older ones will be replaced by better ones.
- The DVD shows the standard of performance of our group and serves as an excellent communication medium between observatory Gahberg and periodicals as well as publishers.
- The total revenue from the sale of the DVD is used to assist the association and delivers a small financial contribution to the current projects.
New contents
- The DVD was reworked in all respects: Besides a new folder structure, which is easy to follow, a web browser navigation was also installed.
- The language of the web browser navigation is German, but the complete folder structure is hold in English to assist all English speaking people at their quick search for all interesting information.
- The new menu 'Know-how' offers a lot of useful information: 97 articles and presentations by 22 different authors.
- This year, we had a strong increase of the number of images. The DVD contains now 2266 images of 780 different objects. Guenther Kerschhuber and Bernhard Hubl have contributed many images of very rarely photographed objects. Our limitation to objects with a declination above -35° is no longer valid. So, Robert Schulz has delivered many images of southern objects.
Many members as well as some well known astro-photographers which deserve our thanks have given us their observation hints and processing reports. The DVD of Sternwarte Gahberg might well be the only product where one can find tutorials of Robert Gendler and Don Goldmann next to processing tips of Mischa Schirmer and Bernhard Hubl.
